The Other Side of Sixty
Random thoughts from an older perspective, writing, politics, spirituality, climate change, movies,knitting, writing, books, refinishing furniture, getting off the grid, writing, plotting and planning an organic garden, writing. I MUST STAY DRUNK ON WRITING SO REALITY DOES NOT DESTROY ME.
About Me

- Name: Wisewebwoman
- Location: Avalon Peninsula, Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada
Irish by birth, Newfoundlandler by avocation - I live here 80% of the time. The other 20% is spent where the wind blows me. I think random thoughts on an even more random universe. Elevated, exhilarated and exalted by the fact I am living in this day and age. I've come all the way from hand-cranked calculators in an endless room of clerical drones to a flat monitored multi-gigabyted home office where the work comes to me. How absolutely cool is that???

Jeez, let me guess. That must be in the United States, right? Oh, my God!
Wot, no more Hollywoods, no more Brazilians? Outrageous.
Oooh! We want cleavage!! More cleavage!!!
@GSW:
Ya think? And your first clue?
@Nick:
Sorry to be the bear of such sad tidings!
@Annie:
Give us boobs instead of pubes, eh?

I've clunked, too, until my head hurts, WWW. Note that many of these protesters are women....and that, in itself, is worthy of a double-double clunk!!! You'd think they'd know better - but no, not in the USA.
T:
It's all attributable to the successful brainwashing of the double digit IQ segment of the population by the insurance companies who are now denying the pre-existing condition of being the victim of wife battering.
I honestly had hoped that the women in the US would be at the forefront of campaigning for universal health care if not for themselves at least for their children.

Should have been "denying coverage for pre...."
A few days ago I met a girlfriend I had not seen in a while. During dinner, the conversation reverted to the healthcare system in the US. She started ranting about how Obama was turning this country into Socialism, about how we now had to take care of everybody, about how taking care of everyone was waste of money etc etc etc.... I was flabbergasted by her ignorant and selfish comments. But then again, I understand where it's all coming from... From the main stream media! the evil of all...!
As long as main stream media keeps pumping up such nonsense and continues to confuse the masses, the health care system or any other problem can never be fixed....
Damn the media in this country!!!!
Nevin:
And people like these never connect the dots on socialism being the police force, schools, fire service, highways, etc. etc. I understand your enragement!

Conor:

If there WERE a God, everyone at that rally would lose their job, fall on hard times, then develop a serious illness. I'm sick of the excuses: it's THEIR media, THEIR damned politicians they're supporting. They put them there. If they've chosen to give up the sense they were born with they don't deserve a proper healthcare system. These are the true peasants of America.
RJA:
Well said, they don't deserve it. We declare them exempt.

These are the uninformed who need to rely on the likes of Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity to do their thinking for them. These are sheeple, they are unable to think, unable to read anything that requires the thought process. I keep wondering when this country is going to say "enough" already.
Our airways are filled with hate, racism and misinformation & all the while covering up the hypocrites that call themselves elected officials.Our society is sick and in desperate need of Health Care !!!!!!
Marbur:
Standing as I do, at a distance from all this carry-on, it is like watching an appalling train wreck and begging for the carnage to stop.
I grieve all the sick and dying without care every year.
