Et Tu, Brazil?

An RC priest in Brazil (where more and more abused children are coming forward) has expanded the empire of paedophilia even further with the addition of an erotic dungeon to his parish house.

Here he would chain up altar boys and rape them.

State prosecutors have accused Marcin Michael Strachanowski, 44, of handcuffing the 16-year-old former altar boy to a bed three years ago in the parish house where the priest lived and threatening to kill the youth if he spoke of the abuse.

You can read all about it here. Same old, same old. More abused children scarred for life. Their lives stolen forever.

But Brazil has come up with a solution to the problem. Yes it has!

The National Conference of Brazilian Bishops recently announced it would prepare a manual with guidelines to help bishops prevent child-abuse cases.

A manual! Now, why didn't the pope himself think of that! The problem of rampant priestly paedophilia is now solved!

A manual with guidelines? Sounds like the ideal solution. Guideline (1) Don't get caught (2) Don't worry, they're all at it (3) The boys love it really (4) God forgives. No hang on, that can't be right.

If it were any organization other than the Roman Catholic church, it would be branded as unlawful for its obscene practices.

Cordoned away in a bubble of denial, hypocrisy, cunning and blame-shifting, they just don't get it. Their bogus power is more important to them than the most basic of human values.

The church is run by men; men who chose to be priests because they either dislike women or are completely uninterested in them. Did you hear about the Catholic nun, hospital administrator, who has been excommunicated because she permitted an abortion to be performed on a woman who doctors said had a 99% chance of dying if she carried her pregnancy to term? NPR interviewed a priest who said, matter of factly, "Well, that's the rule of the church. Sometimes the mother has to die with the child." And that just happened in May, 2010.

I wrote that while still thinking about your piece on your mother's last childbirth. I have been catching up on my blog reading, so my last comment was, of course, more appropriate to that post. But I also was thinking of the NPR interview with another priest about the excommunicated num, a rational man, who pointed out that none of the priests who were proved to have sexually abused young boys were excommunicated. There is one standard for men, another for women.

The disregard this corrupt patriarchy has for women beggars disbelief, doesn't?
Breeders only to be used up until the uterus is no longer valid.
I've never understood my female friends who still partake in this travesty of paedophilia and hypocrisy.

I feel that I can't light candles anymore by Mary and the child in the old chapel. The Pope and his fellow perverts have done me in. And I'm a heathen.
