It is so hard to catch waves. I examined your food parcel with interest. It is obviously a low fat and low sugar muffin and the coffee skim milk and no added sugar.

I love to browse your blog, WWW, it's so restful and full of peaceful things after the stuff I write and read about in that other world, of wars and suffering; the sheer grossness of the exhibitionism outside the White House yesterday for 'His' birthday. I keep telling myself to let go, let other younger writers take over, but I'm driven to keep writing about the horrors. So I come here for a little quiet contemplation. Keep at it, my friend.

I rant there in my comments with other appalled people who drill down into the horrors perpetuated each day, culminating in the spectacle last night. Representative of how low the US has descended. But we need to balance it with the lovely stuff for our own sanity. And there is a lot of that out there too.

What a lovely Sunday you had. I sat, after church, in a meeting discussing one of the church's big annual events that has become very small and frail as the congregation does likewise. Bit of a downer.
ReplyDeleteI see all the churches closing down in Ireland, some lovely old cathedrals. Young people, for the most part, are not interested or believe. For my part neither do I. I was raised strictly, church often 3 or 4 times a week and then the horrors of the all the abuse descended and I had to re-evaluate everything. I know it is sad for many old people to see all of it crumbling. I see it out here with the lack of vocations, etc. and churches being sold too. But I remember all those helpless children who suffered looking for some kind of recognition for the horrors and adequate compensation for lives destroyed.

Daughters are here for many reasons, but one is certainly to spoil their parents. I have just returned from a weekend with mine, who suitably spoiled me to excess. My son-in-law didn't do a bad job either!

Phlox is one of my favourite flowers we have a white one and its scent is heavenly.
