Dory

Dory Buff

Buttering the silent water
Bobbing slowly into winter
Buffed curves of poignancy
Burnishing our sweet autumn.

Dory Buff is a colour all to itself out here in Newfoundland. The unusual colour is sometimes seen on houses but it's used mainly on these wonderful dories.

I was taken by the surreal nature of this landscape shot right across the water from where I live.

Lucky me. Yes, I know.

  6. You do know how to touch a person's heart, even one who lives very far away from all of that.

  8. Am I allowed to envy you the view? I love the colour of the little boat. Custard yellow has become very popular for houses in rural Ireland, it is so much softer than the whitewashed plaster.

  10. It's a very striking colour. The boat stands out immediately even with that glorious landscape behind it.
