Inside Job

'Inside Job' provides a comprehensive analysis of the global financial crisis of 2008, which at a cost over $20 trillion, caused millions of people to lose their jobs and homes in the worst recession since the Great Depression, and nearly resulted in a global financial collapse. Through exhaustive research and extensive interviews with key financial insiders, politicians, journalists, and academics, the film traces the rise of a rogue industry which has corrupted politics, regulation, and academia. It was made on location in the United States, Iceland, England, France, Singapore, and China.

If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend that you do.

Matt Damon narrates and does a marvellous job. Once I started watching I saw it right through to the finish. It simply and clearly reaffirms all that I've been thinking for the last twenty years. The greatest transfer of wealth in the history of the world. All under our noses. And it continues.

  2. and its not over. See what happens when Greece renegs on the bailout and leaves the Eurozone followed by Italy and Spain and others we don't know of.

Guess who will go down with Greece...some of the big banks in the USA that Obama bailed out.

The wages of greed is economic destruction.

  4. We watched this a short time ago...interesting but depressing, and not a darn thing we can do, not yet anyway. There will have to be an end to it though, one way or another.

  5. Oh, well, it's okay for those with their fancy 'hubs' and things. Let's download nearly two hours at Gawd knows how many Gigabytes! We're still on HughesNet satellite. Better than dial-up? Only just! Have you noticed I haven't posted too many videos on Sparrow Chat this last year? That's why. Can I borrow your fancy hub?

Oh it is coming to an end, with the treasury of the US entirely looted and Canada not far behind with Herr Harper in charge of the henhouse and he is a secretive, deceitful PM.
I have only one word to say to all I know:

  11. I have read a great deal about this and am in an ongoing debate with an economist on the same topic, but this really takes the pride of place in terms of the depth of the research. Thank you.

Synchronicity, I am reading a fascinating book by Susan Cain called Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking. I have just concluded her own take on what happened and I think that you would find the book and the conclusion fascinating too.
