30 Days - Day 30

.

Maxed Out

Well yeah, I missed a few days. Daughter came to stay. Friends arrived for 4 months in a house I found for them. There was a town/beach/roads clean-up, there was TIRED happening and a requestioning of what am I doing on this planet which is an increased improvement over the "What is the Meaning of Life?" dilemmas of my younger self.

My atheist isolation in a town of full-on worshippers is rarely commented on. But that also means I don't get to read church bulletins which broadcasts everything local. Separation of church and state doesn't happen much out here. Down to the Christmas Crib on municipal property. Along with all that I attend 12 step-fellowships when my tolerance metre is on "high". I'm not known for my subservience. Never have been. But now and again, yeah, all the doings of the very selective cruel ICH* who cures, say, certain children of disease whilst making others suffer prolonged pain and horror as victims of rape and torture and trafficking, being justified as "God's Will" makes the last surviving brain lobe explode. Well. Who can blame me and my logical brain?

Once upon a time, I explained it all here and there and everywhere.

And I do take comfort from sharing and writing here.

It sure gets lonely hiking the road less travelled when you never, ever meet any other travellers

  1. Yes. I think I'm the only Buddhist in Labrador except one Korean who told me she isn't really a practioner - just cultural. I don't believe in any god and people simply don't get it here. I work in a treatment centre so someone is always invoking a higher power. Gah. Ah well...humans neh?

Oh thank GOD you're here in my wee corner of the world! Good to know there's another kindred spirit in this huge province of Newfoundland & Labrador.
Yeah the fairy dust sprinkled everywhere clogs the nostrils.

  3. Pilfer a bulletin on a weekday. Your comment on Jan's comment made me chuckle.

Nowhere to pilfer them from, don't know where they wind up probably in people's firestarting kits, LOL. And all the pleas for funds irritate the crap out of me anyway, so better off not seeing it, I keep my nose to the ground and pick up on what's not told to me LOL

  7. I don't know where you've got the bit about disease/rape and other atrocities being God's will, from........

It's a pity that you can't get the local information you want from secular sources....... that does't seem right at all.

  8. You didn't miss a few days, Real life needed you and you answered the call! I no longer worry about being kept kept at arms length by people in my town. I notice several have quietly dropped me because of my views on the Equality Referendum due to take place in ROI on Friday.

Oh the teachings of the RC church, Maggie, it's all God's will and his mysterious ways.
I've broached the topic and a municipal newsletter seems to be the way to fly.:)

  19. I've met fellow travellers here on the interwebs. I count you among them and will read everything you post. I could stop writing but I enjoy reading and want to at least try to keep up my end of the bargain. Hang in there - I'm sure there are more like-minded souls out there than you know.

  20. Me thinks you threw the baby out with the bath water my dear...the RC Church poisoned your mind on GOD and the nature of this being. Perhaps another perspective on what GOD may actually be...take a look at the possibility that (as physics are finding out) there is only one energy, it is the ALL of life, you are a part of it not separate from it...now just possibly this energy is conscious and it is divine in its aspect...who knows how much the raped and tortured and poor and neglected are learning from their experiences that put them so far ahead of us in evolutionary terms. Never judge the experience of another and call it good or bad for you do not know what that soul is experiencing and for what reasons. Even Mandela said he would not have become what he became without the suffering. There is much you have to re-member. And you have every right to believe that the very essence which is what every and all is does not exist..it has no needs for it is ALL, and is fine with your insistence of no existence LOL ahahahah... shift the perspective and EVERYTHING CHANGES.

  21. Which is the more loving and wise parent...the one who tells the child I love you so you cannot go outside and play you might hurt yourself, I will keep you from harm forever with me and you will never be hurt, never do bad, never be unhappy just stay here and never go out into the world where these horrible things might happen to you and we will both be fine.... OR the parent that says, I love you and I will let you experience the ALL of life, and you may get hurt, and you may have evil done to you, and you might be sad, and you might be happy but I love you enough to let you go and experience what you choose and will always be here for you no matter how it goes...hmmm GOD she (blew your mind with that pronoun eh? ahahaha) is the second parent I think...

Some of you are having trouble, I've removed captcha and verification so we'll see how that goes. My apologies. Blogger is putting up far too many roadblocks. Thanks for the emails alerting me.
