Not counting the chickens before they're hatched or anything....

But hell!! Not one piece of positive reportage did I read on Hillary in the last three months, apart from the odd little Erica Jong type piece. (That means you MSM, Huffington, Maureen Dowd, KOS, Consortium News and the biggest letdown of all Keith Olbermann).

All the main stream media were like Rotweilers on a kitten. They literally shredded her face, her voice, her marriage, her child, her legs, her hair, her message.

And a free pass was offered to her opponent, the charismatic but empty Barack Obama.

So in spite of all this fugly, vicious snark, SHE WINS, SHE WINS????

In truly real numbers because the sheeple watch CNN, FOX, MSNBC, how truly humongous are her victories?

Is anybody asking this question, eh media??

Huh?

Huh?

PS FOR THOSE INTERESTED, I AM POSTING HRC'S SPEECH WOMEN'S RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS HERE, JUST IN CASE THERE IS ANY DOUBT AS TO WHERE HER BELIEF SYSTEM IS.

  1. Truthfully, I think the whole thing is unseemly - these people marketing themselves like cars or microwave ovens.

  2. Isn't it the way of US Politics though? The couuntry has stripped the process of respect and dignity and brought it down to the level of American Idol with MSM trying to sway people's thinking to THEIR way.
I celebrate that in this small case of yesterday, the whole process did not work.

  3. HRC has Rotweilers for breakfast, WWW! ;-)

I love that she never gives in, continues to fight agains the odds. That's what we need in a president, not namby-pamby reaching across the aisle to appease the bad guys.

I wish John Edwards would get off the fence and support her. He had said he was torn, and unsure Obama is tough enough. Now would be a good time to choose.

  4. I wish for a world where people in the rest of the world do not wait holding their breaths for the result of the elections in a country. But we can't do that can we as elections in the US spell dire consequences for the rest of us, regardless of who wins. I am only truly hoping McCain doesn't.
As for Hillary Clinton, can she actually remember she IS a woman if she is the president? Will she remember to empower women besides making decisions that have such impact on so many countries in the world, and the world itself (Kyoto anyone?) I doubt it, she will fight like a man and make decisions like a man, and a politician. Having said that I'd rather see her as a president than anyone else.
    My thoughts anyways :)

  5. I agree, T, Edwards needs to jump off the fence now and show his coloours.
I particularly don't like Obama on NAFTA and this whole business of his real estate transactions and also the fact that he has said he will not support Hillary if she should get the nomination, how divisive is that?

  6. Hi Gaye:
I remember being so impressed with Hillary's speech on women's rights several years ago so I found it and have now posted it as a post script on today's Blog Entry.
It is worth reading, I choose to believe her words were heartfelt.
Time for the years of honouring the feminine in all of us, men too!

  7. On your comment above, WWW, I fear if she makes it you will be sadly disappointed in the end. She reminds me too much of Margaret Thatcher in the early 1980's. I'm all for honouring the feminine and would love to see a female US president, but not Mrs Clinton.

  8. In a new world order HRC just might have utility. Might.

This election, like most US elections spanning my near 41 years as a Canadian - with US television infused subtitles - is dreary to me in all respects.

This is not unusual to me. Each election has been dreary. There have been about 10 in my life so far and I recall about 9 of them (thanks to MSM...which one can't help but avoid even if you unplug).

And then there are the cultural references to 'historical' elections that are worth media bites or comedy sketches.

Amusing? Not. Frightening would be the more correct description of how I feel when I see how appalling the eye candy becomes during the circus that is known as US democracy in our modern world - or any democracy for that matter.

Does this mean I do not care? Of course not.

But the spin that gets woven anew with each onslaught of character assisinations gets, well, dreary.

But, as I said, in a new world order HRC could prove to be a powerful figurehead.

I'm not holding much hope on that but await the unfolding as the snow spins out of the sky and onto my already topped up snow filled lawn (in Toronto in March 2008).

    Global warming or dimming anyone?

    A new world order indeed.

It all remains to be seen, doesn't it, but I honestly feel she is the best hope for a stable, safe world and renewed respect for the U.S. as a world player.

I hear you, the very sameness of the elections and MSM's feeding frenzy flatten hope when none of the real issues of the day are being dealt with.
It is all optics and eye candy but the big difference I sense is that the U.S. is growing up (very slowly) by fielding these previous minorities in a race to the finish.
I think the tanking economy will force a global warming reckoning.
Pain is the only pathway to sustainability.

  11. i'm very quietly with you, WWW.

not supposed to have a public opinion, being a journalist. but i can say that i was thrilled to see her win.

she would be a very competent, hard working, sensible president, just the right person to get our economy back on track and start righting our place in the world.

I truly believe she is a compassionate person and has the backs of women and children in this critical time.
And if we don't empower more women (or the feminine) in this world, we are truly up S*** Creek. In more ways than one!
