Losses are painful and all part of living. At times it's the small things that hit the hardest. I check my emails every morning and the one I looked forward to the most is missing. And will be forever. And fresh tears leak. I know that too, will diminish in time. I tracked down this post I made when another died. It helped then and it helps me now. For all those who miss her and those who have suffered more than their share in the past year. I'm thinking also of my dear brother who died last November and I think of, especially, Andrew and Kylie
On those days when you miss someone the most, as though your memories are sharp enough to slice through skin and bone, remember how they loved you.
Remember how they loved you and do that, for yourself.
In their name, in their honour.
Love yourself, as they loved you.
They would like that.
On those days when you miss someone the most,
love yourself harder.Author : Donna Ashworth
That is very lovely, thank you.
ReplyDeleteVery well written, yes, we'll miss her!
ReplyDeleteDonna Ashworth has said it so well for all of us. We must carry on.
ReplyDeleteMary, thank you for thinking of me. Yes, I'm trying to love myself harder, trying to remember how many times my Dad was grateful for my presence in his last months, rather than beat myself up with all the things I got wrong.
ReplyDeleteMy condolences to you, a daily email is quite a feat and I know you there will be quite a hole without it.
That's a thought provoking and comforting poem. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteExactly so, that poem.We don't want our loved ones to suffer and mourn forever; we want them to be happy and remember how much we loved them.
ReplyDeleteDear Mary, Thank you for your concern. The loss of Sue is shocking and for me, scary, as I may face the same surgery in the near future. I am sorry for your loss and the loss to myself and other bloggers here. The very idea of "an unfixable perforation" as I read is simply horrendous. Sue deserved so much better than that. As regards my specific situation, for a variety of reasons, the first GYN I visited is a complete disaster and having communicated my concerns to my GP, the GP organized another GYN, called, sent records etc. I see them Monday barring anything unforeseen and may finally obtain a diagnosis. This has been ongoing since July. Thankfully, the medicine is helping and the bleeding has stopped. I plan to post as more information comes to light.
ReplyDeleteDear Elizabeth, I emailed you directly. I hope you received it.
