I love my indoor garden. These orchids are a constant source of joy as they take turns blooming. This one has 8 more buds and the blooms last as long as 3 months.
Dinner dropped off by a caring friend during the week. I am forever grateful to those who understand my frequent (far too) immobilizations and endeavour to cheer me. And they do. Food is such a visible expression of love.
I keep this prettily framed photo of my last four-legged companion, Ansa, on my desk. You can see the love in her eyes here. She was a never ending source of inspiration to me. A beloved rescued border collie and constant companion.
This is part of the tiny fishing village of Quidi Vidi (pronounced kiddy viddy) which is part of the city of St. John's near my home. An enchanting wee place.
This is a drone view.
Have a good week all.

The colour of those blooms! I've never had an orchid and now I want one. -Kate
ReplyDeleteAnza has such a kind face and your orchids are gorgeous. and the drone photo is so pretty. Mary
ReplyDeleteA flowering orchid is a good alternative to a weekly bunch of flowers. I would have never guessed the pronunciation of that village, which might be an alternative for Doc's Portwenn.
ReplyDeleteMy mum loved orchids far more than I do, though they are very pretty, and decided I should carry orchids as my wedding bouquet. Ansa was a lovely girl, Border Collies are often faithful and loving.
ReplyDeleteQuidi Vidi looks pretty.
Border Collie puppies are adorable. Your photo of Ansa also shows a sensitive face.
ReplyDeleteOrcids are such optimistic flowers, I love that you can grow them. And the drone view of the fun-named village is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYour home is so very beautiful. I know every place has its issues but I wish I could move someplace not ruled by an insane, racist idiot. Each day grows worse.
ReplyDeleteThat last photo, so lovely! I had to look it up to see where exactly it was, and oh my! It is really a long way away from here.
ReplyDeleteCaring friends are a true treasure. I think we appreciate them more as we aged. My sons kind of take me for granted--- they are in denial, I think, that i am getting older. And I think, honestly, that i did the same with my own parents.
I was given two orchids for my 50th (I'm coming up 55) and they have never flowered since. I am proud to say they are alive!
ReplyDeleteThe cerise colour is a favourite of mine.
Ansa was a lovely looking dog and I know you adored her. Dogs are the best.
I also love the thoughtfulness of a friend dropping off dinner; little gestures like that mean so much.
