Sunday Selections.

Joining with many others in this feast of forgotten, overlooked and meaningful photos. Here are some participants: River is one, Andrew is one.  Messymimi is one. Kylie  is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.

The simple things.

I like these clever cartoons.

A bowl of blackberries for breakfast this morning,

I gifted these two dishcloths I recently knitted yesterday. They last forever and never hold an odour.
I gifted myself this lovely wee hyacinth yesterday.

I gifted myself a sit-by-the-ocean-and-nothing-yourself for a long time yesterday. I call days like these #40shadesofblue.

  1. What type of yarn did you use for your dishcloths, WWW? I'd love to knit one for myself.

  2. There seems to be a lot of gifting happening. It took me a second to get the cartoon, and then I really did have a laugh.

  3. I love those cartoons too, there was a range of them many years ago and I collected them, but they were printed in black and white so I coloured them and I don't know where they are now if I even still have them. I remember a "bad leek" under the sink.
I think a day spent day-dreaming by the beach is a wonderful thing to do.
The dishcloths look great, I knitted one myself years ago and decided it was too pretty to use so now it is a mat on a smaller chest of drawers.

  5. RoisinNY. I was reminded of Masefield’s poem “I must go down to the sea again …”

    1. I love that poem, Ros, we had to learn it in school and I'm so glad we did. I find the sea so soothing and its many moods captivating.

    1. And I know it Charlotte, and I think a little gratitude list of the small things allows us to see our blessings.

  7. Way back in the day, did you ever read the blog "The Weather in the Streets" ?
The writer, Leah, sent me some dishcloths of that exact pattern. They were well used and loved and now long gone.
    Blackberries for breakfast sounds amazing.

  10. A funny carton which I did get right away, thanks for the laugh today. The homemade dish clothes are a good alternative to throw away sponges. I have been using a swedish dish cloth and really prefer it.
