The simple things.
I like these clever cartoons.
I gifted these two dishcloths I recently knitted yesterday. They last forever and never hold an odour.
I gifted myself a sit-by-the-ocean-and-nothing-yourself for a long time yesterday. I call days like these #40shadesofblue.

What type of yarn did you use for your dishcloths, WWW? I'd love to knit one for myself.
ReplyDeleteI use Bernat 100% cotton, made in Canada. Lovely to work with .

There seems to be a lot of gifting happening. It took me a second to get the cartoon, and then I really did have a laugh.
ReplyDeleteYeah it's a good one, took me a while too 🤣

I love those cartoons too, there was a range of them many years ago and I collected them, but they were printed in black and white so I coloured them and I don't know where they are now if I even still have them. I remember a "bad leek" under the sink.
ReplyDeleteI think a day spent day-dreaming by the beach is a wonderful thing to do.
The dishcloths look great, I knitted one myself years ago and decided it was too pretty to use so now it is a mat on a smaller chest of drawers.
Yes, some of my giftees use them as mats. But honestly? These dishcloths last a lifetime. All my ancients look new.

RoisinNY. I was reminded of Masefield’s poem “I must go down to the sea again …”
ReplyDeleteI love that poem, Ros, we had to learn it in school and I'm so glad we did. I find the sea so soothing and its many moods captivating.

ReplyDeleteAnd I know it Charlotte, and I think a little gratitude list of the small things allows us to see our blessings.

Way back in the day, did you ever read the blog "The Weather in the Streets" ?
ReplyDeleteThe writer, Leah, sent me some dishcloths of that exact pattern. They were well used and loved and now long gone.
Blackberries for breakfast sounds amazing.
Fabulous and I still use the dish cloth you sent me...the sea is quite curative.
ReplyDeleteI know I'm late but these are very fun Selections from last week. I'm going to try to peek in more often.
ReplyDeleteA funny carton which I did get right away, thanks for the laugh today. The homemade dish clothes are a good alternative to throw away sponges. I have been using a swedish dish cloth and really prefer it.
