Joining with many others in this feast of forgotten, overlooked and meaningful photos. Here are some participants: River is one, Andrew is one. Messymimi is one. Kylie is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.
It's hard to capture the amount of snow here but out today, with the sun shining (and melting), this is the side of the parking lot.
Daughter, granddaughter and grandson-in-law and I had a treasured trip here a few years back. It's a remote island off a remote island and the lit up cottage is where we stayed. I bought the prints and daughter framed the three. Reflections are unfortunate but at least you see the house.
The top one is mine from the last place I lived, and the bottom is an oil painting of the colours of Ukraine when an artist friend was raising funds for this fierce, brave country. I won the bid.
Stuffs as Andrew would call this collection in my hall. And this is only the half of it.
Do cushions breed? Asking for a friend.
River posted a picture of her shower curtain so I'm posting a picture of mine. The bathroom is done up in that turquoise blue you see on the whale. We are in whale country here. My bathroom is also an art gallery of treasured wee pictures too. But that will be for another week.
When enlarged, there appears to be a little snow lying on the ground in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteYour stuffs look neat enough.
That's a very cool shower curtain.
My helper does the tidying and re-arranging Andrew. I try and offload books as I go but they still catch up with me.

I love your "stuffs"! We all have "stuffs", some neater than others but all treasured for one reason or another. I like your shower curtain and the idea of a blue bathroom is spinning in my head, I love blues as long as they aren't pastel shades. The houses in the picture look like toys.
ReplyDeleteThat's a LOT of snow.
We've had quite a winter of the white stuff Kylie and it's been super hard on the snow plows and the sidewalk scoopers. running out of spots to throw it.

I very much enjoyed your selections and oof, that is a lot of snow.
ReplyDeleteIt truly is Mimi. One of the heaviest winters yet.

I love a fun shower curtain! Unfortunately my shower has a glass door so no fun curtains for me.
ReplyDeleteI also love a quirky scatter cushion but I never know what to do with them because I don't want to actually sit with them. I have a single, glorious velvet Frida Kahlo cushion which I love but it's over stuffed and uncomfortable. I must find a way to enjoy it....
I hope you are well stocked up when the snow comes?
Very well stocked Kylie, the only way to do winters like this. Maybe you could restuff your cushion with something softer? Just a thought. It sounds lovely. My kitchen calendar this year is all Frida. She's so inspiring. I was lucky to visit her house in Mexico City. I spent most of the day there.

I love your shower curtain. Whales are pretty, and this reminds me of clever people making paintings in old books. Furthermore ti fits with my colour of the month. Thanks for these lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you Charlotte. You colour of the month I absolutely love.

Comfy sofa cushions are my favorite as well, plus your bookcases resemble our own very full ones. Our current shower curtain is winter snowflakes hopefully soon to be replaced with a seashore scene.
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to pare down from ALL the books I had in other dwellings that had acres of space. I'll read that again, I say, and no I never do. But I do give away or donate to the library in the building.
DeleteA seashore sounds lovely.
