For any sentient being, the last few days have been a wallop. To see the USA stand by and not incarcerate, commit or remove this lunatic from one of the most prestigious positions of authority and responsibility in the world is, frankly, unbelievable. Every department of government and his cabinet are all compromised in some way, and his Supreme Court gave him a free pass to crime all he wants with no repercussions.
I don't know about you, but when he threatened to annihilate one of the oldest civilizations in the world (7,000 years), I was chilled to the bone. We all knew what he meant, of course. And I thought of the only country that ever used nuclear weapons WAS the USA, bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki, causing countless deaths and illnesses for generations. So that is the country we all need to fear, and ironically, we're not demanding a dismantling of their nuclear arms when their threat was nearly activated by the lunatic.
So yeah, no matter the end result, the tension of living under the whims of a monster is enormously stressful for all of us. Us elders worry more about our kids and grandkids living under the malignant eye of a man without scruples, morals, ethics, or empathy.
And if you think there's going to be free and fair elections in November, I want a share of what you're smoking.
The USA has totally lost its way, and I have a sinking feeling it's never coming back.
Citizens are streaming across the border into Canada for all sorts of jobs, the top being medical and secondly academic. The best of brains. Other countries are benefiting too.
I weep for my friends living there, most too old to emigrate elsewhere. Just know you are not alone. There are more of you than there are of the blithering eejits who put the terrorist and his criminal cabal in office.
No Kings marches were reflected around the world. 8 million of you rising up every state.
Well done, more please. Maybe a general strike?
Some recent photos:
Sometimes a simple dinner of samosas with chutney and Brussels sprouts with grated parmesan does the trick.

Great graphic. I didn't think he was talking about a nuclear bomb -- regular bombs would have been bad enough. Apparently the stock market isn't reacting to his threats now, which could be a bad thing, because he does care about that. The trouble is people were making money by betting he would cave -- maybe because they had insider information. Yuck!
ReplyDeleteI dont believe Dumpster Fire actually has balls. -Kate
ReplyDeleteWe in UK are never surprised to hear Trumps rantings, its what we've come to expect of someone who is unhinged.. our wonderings are who voted such a mad man into power?
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the bouquet of tulips from your daughter! Forget regime change in Iran. It's the U.S.A. where we desperately need a regime change! Got a chuckle from the cartoon.
ReplyDeleteThe nuclear obliteration of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were so obscene that most people would have assumed it would never happen again. How telling that it was the USA threatening to bomb Iran back to the stone age.
ReplyDeleteHe has caused a complete loss of any moral authority the country once had. One third voted for him, one third voted for Harris and one third need to get off the arses and vote, and vote correctly.
ReplyDeleteI am truly at a loss for words anymore. There are too many people making money off it all. I listened the other night to Canada's conservate person who didn't win the election....at least that is who I think he was....and he just sounded so sane even if you didn't agree with him. And he didn't bash anyone or blame anyone for his loss. The No Kings is not enough. Yes, something more serious is needed. We are becoming immune to it and that is not a good thing.
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't have been listening to Poilievre, then. He's the king of bashing everyone but he does seem to follow Dumpster Fire's lead when it comes to attitude and politics.
DeleteThere will never be free and fair elections in the US unless:
ReplyDelete1- that immoral idiot dies
2 - all those people who DON'T usually vote get up off their arses/butts/couches and actually VOTE
3 - the Electoral College is disbanded permanently
P.S. the flowers are beautiful and samosas look delicious.
ReplyDeleteUhh, samosas. I have not had any for years. Now I'll have to find out where to get some.
ReplyDeleteThe dark curtain of fascism has now descended on the USA and I fear it is not going to be lifted any time soon. It still confounds me that having clearly revealed what he was like during his first term, and clearly laying out his path to pardoning the January 6 thugs and seeking retribution on his political enemies, almost eighty million Americans still voted for him, and launched him into the madness that is now occurring, with control of the White House, the House and the Senate, and with the Supreme Court firmly in his pocket. You have met the enemy, USA, and it is you.
ReplyDeleteThose of us who didn't vote for him wonder about those who did, too. So many people believed his campaign lies. What bothers me now is even after he's trashed our country, people still support him. WTF? I'm getting ready for a European trip next week, and I'm worried about our reception. He's screwed up the lives of not only US citizens, but everyone in the world.
ReplyDeleteA great post with flowers, good eats and the depiction of our great leader is just right!! How did it come to this, I can't believe what's happening. Am plenty old and just about thought I'd seen it all, but guess not. Well, will see what tomorrow brings. Take care.
ReplyDeleteLife here is just insane. And there are so many people, protected by their privilege or ignorance, who ignore what is happening. And don't get me started on that stupid arch Trump wants to build now. What happened to all the money for his ballroom? The place is being run by grifters, for grifters, and no one wants to stop him.
ReplyDeleteI follow an Instagrammer who has for months now been predicting that Trump will either "leave the land of the living after aspirating on a burger" or the 25th will have to be invoked and cause his removal.
ReplyDeleteThis guy seemed to spend months saying he thought it would happen within four months but now his countdown has reached 12 days. I know it sounds insane to put a specific day on the end of the regime but some days it seems the only available hope.
I never thought I would see such insanity.
Your flowers are beautiful and I want samosas for dinner!
And they tell us to worry about Orban. Emma.
ReplyDeleteJesus, that picture of Trump is perfection! I'm saving it. :D Thank you!
