Here She Be

Posting this for all the "crafties" out there....

I designed and knitted this baby afghan with the tree of life, the rocks of Newfoundland, a lighthouse for safe harbour and dreams of a life surrounded by flowers with diamonds for her parents.

  1. Fantabulous! A family heirloom to carry dreams from generation to generation.

I love the edging round the frame... now to work out how you did it!

About 50 hours I figure, the flower edging takes a while - I disciplined myself to do an hour a day on it after breakfast, it is a form of meditation.

  6. What a creative woman you are! How can a child fail to thrive with such a blanket to protect it?

  7. A treasure for a lifetime. I have items my grandmother and my mother made and once in awhile I hold them. I have the skills but haven't used them in years. You have me thinking. It most definitely can be a calming hour a day. No hurry right.

Thanks for showing the picture of the final product. Gorgeous.

so do I but one never knows when it leaves one's hands and there are some who never appreciate any kinds of handiwork but value stuff from Baby Gap much more highly.

I wonder what kind of plot? Maybe a story down the generations of the blanket inhabitors?
