Sunday Smatterings

These "5 Birds on a Wire" right outside my bedroom window cheered me up no end this morning. I hope you can see them. You might need to enbiggen. And yes, fall is in the air.

I updated my 2019 books read and rated list. Only 49 so far but most have been terrific reads. 2019 Books Read is on the sidebar. Links to all books read and blog listed is here.

And finally, I do love a dance video that is multi-cultural AND age-friendly like this one from the Jiggy group out of Ireland. Swing any kind of move to it.

    1. You should write about that, Ernestine. I won a beauty contest in Italy. Imagine.

  2. Great video! I used to take hula classes, but it was such an ordeal, I quit. Good exercise, though.

    1. I could never master the hula hoop, a klutz. I'd win a klutz contest!

  3. I am intrigued that the birds are so perfectly spaced - almost like musical notes.
And smiled rather a lot at the video of people enjoying music and movement.

    1. I couldn't get over the bird choreography either. If I had my good camera with zoom I could have gotten a better shot!

  4. "Jiggy" is good fun, even without the sound. (My computer is soundless and awaiting replacement.)

I long for fall to be in the air here too, WWW. Enjoy!

  5. The summers of our discontent with our bodies unsuited to humidity, etc. I will never adjust. I sort of mentally check out when the weather is like that. Good luck with computer replacement, they are going for a song these days. I just replaced my laptop with a refurbished Dell from Walmart for $160. Could not believe it. I try and buy refurbished always as all the kinks are ironed out. A policy that has rewarded me handsomely. My desktop is an all in one from Lenova with the huge screen, also refurbished, I think it was $250, running solid now for 3+years. No CPU is fantastic on tight space.

  6. EC commented first; glad I rolled up and read remarks. I do love how the birds alighted so perfectly. As for Jiggy--a big thanks. Wonderful. If I made a video to put to the music, though, it would need speeded up. My video.

    1. My favourite was the old woman, kinda barely moving, but so involved in the process of swaying to some music only she could hear.

I was inspired out of my own torpidity - now there's a word :)

  7. Wonderful video! Dance is so universal.

I like how symmetrically the birds have arranged themselves.

  8. LOVE that video. I think if people everywhere would do more dancing and make more music, perhaps we can drown out the warmongers?

    1. So very true, dancing is such a cure. I know it was tried in Ireland at the border with young people on opposing sides dancing together.

And of course if we have empathy, with war there are not sides. Just tragedy. Never ending in most cases.
