Joining others in this Sunday Selection mix of photo-dumps.
From The HighriseAnd maybe more!
A couple of days ago at my favourite beach with no one else around. Bliss. Me and the water do something for each other.
I took this shot of the trees and sky but the incredible sky drained the green from the trees.
A new resident in the building places his art all around along with gardening vegetables outside ( we have magnificent grounds)
Another one of his pieces. He's an extremely kind, shy and gentle man.
This is the lake below where I live. I tried to catch a skiff in the shot but I really don't know what happened to it.
I took this shot of Daughter on a nearby cliff when we were away recently in Twillingate, Newfoundland.
This was a lovely old café in the town and I adored how they centered the puffin portrait.
A truly lovely selection. I really like the way that so many of your photos feature water - and how I would like to live closer to that precious substance.
ReplyDeleteI love the water so much and I love to live near it. My last house was had the ocean at its front door!

They are great photos. The sky is just amazing. Everything else in the photo is background. I like the paintings and I think they are rather good. Perhaps you unwittingly witnessed the rapid sinking of the skiff.
ReplyDeleteThat skiff really baffled me. I saw him coming back later and I don't know how I didn't get him. I will say he was going at a hell of a clip!

Oh, my! That sky is blue!
ReplyDeleteIt takes my breath away at times. We have no pollution here apart from the 3,000 miles away forest fires smoke which blows in in the summer.

I wish I could say that. I'd been struggling with coughing and stuffiness for the past year, only to find THAT is what it was when it went away. Or, I should say, when the predominant wind direction changed. I can't tell if your shots of water are lake or ocean? Thank you. Emma
DeleteShots are ocean apart from the one of the lake (the missing skiff shot). I am fortunate in that I live near both Emma.

Sure enjoyed your photos, it's like a mini-vacation and would love to be right there along with you capturing it. Along with everybody else, I marvel at the sky, gorgeous. That skiff must have been flying by!
ReplyDeleteI am still baffled by that disappearing skiff Marge! Yes, the skies out here are so magnificent.

That's a nice idea, to place his art around the building for everyone's enjoyment. And you do have wonderful scenery in your part of Newfoundland.
ReplyDeleteYes, incredible scenery all around. I loved city life but sometimes the heart calls one elsewhere and I've never looked back.

Good to see you post again.
ReplyDeleteThat sky is a knockout blue - we're lucky in Yorkshire that it's quite often that colour.
I was pegging out some washing in the backyard yesterday and had to look up to do it and the blue stopped me in my tracks.
Aren't we lucky as a species that a colour in nature can cause us to forget what we're doing and have us stop and stare?
There's hope for us yet. xxx
It truly is wonderful to stop at times and glory in the sights of nature all around us. Sometimes I cry at the beauty of it all and hope that we don't trash it all in our endless desire for growth no matter the cost. On a finite planet. It's beautiful to live in places where breathtaking views can still exist.
