Joining others in this Sunday Selection mix of photo-dumps.
From The Highriseamong others.
Not much of a selection. Was only trotting about for essentials and my energy factory was not good until I went off one of my meds (did a deep dive) which was making me constantly fatigued and constantly nauseous. What doc and everyone was putting down to long range effects of the Noro was in fact, incorrect. Nearly a week off the meds now and symptoms have vanished. I'm waiting for a return call from my doc. So here we go:
A book mailed in October by one of my brothers who loved it. It's about our clan, my mother's, the O'Sullivan Bearas of Dursey Island who were 99.9% massacred by the British in the 16th century. I love receiving a book from someone who read it and loved it and then took the trouble to mail it. Our PO went on strike here so it had a long holiday somewhere. We rode the cable car there some years ago and were incredibly moved knowing we descended from just a couple of survivors.
A handmade knitter's mug from my daughter which I will cherish. I christened it this morning. It's one of those mugs with a lovely feel. Just the right weight and a decent handle.
This wonderful cartoonist resigned after 16 years with the Washington Post when they refused to publish her latest cartoon showing Bezos (Amazon) et al kowtowing to their new god. Mickey represents the owner of the WaPo which is owned by Disney.
"Nearly a week off the meds now and symptoms have vanished. I'm waiting for a return call from my doc." Please let us know what your doctor says. I'm glad you are feeling better...fingers crossed. ❤️
ReplyDeleteI am curious too Jean. A complete misdiagnosis of symptoms. But a challenge too. Everyone should do deep dives on their meds.

Oil, gas and water, never mind the minerals. It has to have an effect.
ReplyDeleteThe cartoon is spot on and shame on the paper.
All are kowtowing to the monster. Even some of our politicians. I am reading more and more about collapse Andrew and it's becoming more real. January will be interesting.

Love your gifts and the cartoon.
ReplyDeleteHooray for getting on top of fatigue and nausea. It will be interesting to see what the doctor has to say.
Ansa is a beauty - but you know that.
As a species we are slow learners and too often act without thought to the ramifications. Of course all that drilling has an impact.
This endless and eternal plundering of a fragile planet needs to stop but it won't. We are pitiful. Truly. We have the capacity to feed everyone, use alternative energy but we don't and we won't.
DeleteGaia is in deep trouble.

I think that cartoon should be published! Ansa certainly was beautiful as well as kind.
ReplyDeleteWe are posting it everywhere River. Extraordinary how it's the women who are standing up to the bullying.

A good mug is of utmost importance. Especially the handle. Interesting about the meds. Was it a statin? I have been trying one for the past two weeks.....don't think i am going to last much longer on it.
ReplyDeleteIt was a pain medication. Hydramorphin. Statins are disagreeable and docs are firing some patients who refuse them. The jury is out on some of these pharmaceuticals.

Cartoonists are a threatened subspecies of mankind, we should protect them. I hope you get a coherent answer on your meds.
ReplyDeleteThey have floodlit the issues in ways writers can't Charlotte. I'm sure they will all be targeted by the Monster.

The British were not kind to any land they colonized! The Irish, the Scots, Canada and America. The conqueror mentality.
ReplyDeleteIt bugs me that I descend from conquerors. I like to think my Irish, Scottish may make up for that but several of them enslaved people, and my Quakers did not but have all died out. I love the mug and the photo of Ansa.
ReplyDeleteFond memories of your days with Ansa. I miss our little Duckie Doodle around here sometimes snd comfort myself by imagining snuggling him against my breast.
