I MUST STAY DRUNK ON WRITING SO REALITY DOES NOT DESTROY ME.
As WhatsApp small groups develop I think Facebook will go. I can have small quiet chats about this and that; interspersed with photos and videos and all for free and all completely private. I’m tired of the bickering and self promoting on FB. Facebook have now started to advertise on TV here; they’re getting a bit desperate!
I haven't used WhatsApp though Grandgirl does. Instagram I like for my pics and looking at others'. became a huge time gobbler between the groups and endless scrolling.
Good for you to get rid of Farcebook, Ms Sixty … Enjoyed your post … Just like the other one from a few years ago .. Anyway … Here is to new beginnings, hmmm? Love, cat.
Smart girl, getting the FB app off your phone. I've done the same with it and the Gmail app, also limited checking FB to Saturday (unless looking for something in particular, like photos from Hubby's travels in Europe these past weeks) and that's been helpful too. I wonder if more people all the time will be taking this stuff in hand now. Sure hope so. -Kate
Looks as if you're not going to miss FB at all. I never put the app on my phone, but since I'm often sitting in front of the computer trying to complete other work, it's all too easy to punch in the URL for Facebook.
I just pretend it's not there. I'm sure it was sucking 3 hours out of my day. Sitting in front of the computer and forcing myself to write no matter how long it takes has been a huge change for me.
I hope you're feeling OK Linda I know you're going through a lot.
it takes time to break "old" habits and form new ones so don't be too hard on yourself! at least when we fall off THIS wagon it's easy to get back on it and no damage is done -K
Wow! You are lucky that you could delete your FB account.
ReplyDeleteAnd, your novel is coming along very well. I can't wait to read it.
Ah not deleted, Ramana, but suspended until the winter, if I do go back.

ReplyDeletemy the nonsense sharing. I will soon delete again.
It's a little crazy making and I find so very little of it enlightening. And I had far too many "friends" on there and so many groups.
