Today's Photos

I love the security of books on my headboard. Some are library, some are from Grandgirl and some from Daughter. All unread. Luxury.

Looking out my window right now I see this faithful son bringing goodies to his mama. I love the contrast of tough biker vs the pastries in the bag.

A very dear friend, now since passed at well over 90, painted me this when I was very ill one time. It goes everywhere with me and is right beside my computer corner.

And in today's mail - my new swimsuit. There are many pools around me now and aquafitness sessions so I'm going to give it a bash. Mail ordering is the bomb.

  1. You have an eclectic assortment there, WWW. I love that your friend gave you a painting--one of a kind and very special, just like you!

    1. I couldn't resist taking a photo of him as he is like clockwork a few times a week.

  3. I was a biker once and my son is one even now. I also know many other bikers who keep me up to date on the current developments in the field. I think that the tough image is highly inaccurate.

I hope that you have a grand time swimming. I too do almost all my shopping online nowadays.

    1. Tongue in cheek on the biker thing Ramana, I once biked myself. I always enjoy large tough looking men doing kind and generous actions, breaking their stereotypes. And Daughter #2 rode a Harley and taught motor-cycle safety at a college.

    1. A total bargain, Annie (end of season sale!). I've just lined up a friend to go swimming with.

    1. Thank you Gigi, sometimes we luck out, I've always had trouble getting a top to fit. This is doing it!

  7. Thanks for the glimpses into your life, WWW - I enjoyed them. I like the swimsuit - I doubt you need this help, but the design of brighter mid panel and black sides will produce a nicely slimming optical illusion - even if you don't need it - you know what they say "You can never be too thin or too rich." :)

    1. Oh I need it, trust me T! That was part of the attraction for me!! I seriously don't know what happens to our waists as we age. They seem to slide down our thighs and gallop off screaming into the sunset. I gave up the hunt a while ago!!

  8. Waist? there’s a faint indentation now. One of the reasons why I dread buying a swimming costume. I’m probably also allergic to chlorine in the water. No open water swimming round here.

Nice idea to photograph and record a day’s doings. Something to copy.
Are you happy living in a more built up area?

    1. I'm so happy to having downsized and looking ahead to the future Friko, perhaps not having a driver's licence, perhaps having my PVD get worse and be closer to all amenities like community bus, hospitals, doctors and home care if needed.

To answer your question: I was ready, couldn't be happier to have the burden of my home and B&B business gone forever.

  9. What a truly delightful eclectic collection.
Books are a necessity here. Knowing that, my greedy self cannot stop purchasing/acquiring them.
Love the swimsuit and it is a reminder that I should get back in the water.

    1. I've become a library freak and stopped purchasing, a shocking fact to those who know me as I've had thousands of books on hundreds of shelves throughout my life, EC!

My local library has an inter-library Canada service along with securing most books I want and emailing me when ready for pickup.

Yes, I'm looking forward to swimming again.

  10. Bully for you, getting a new swimsuit and getting into aquatic exercise. You have worked so hard to build a new life, and you've done it. I'm sure it's not perfect, but you have made the decisions that set it up just the way you wanted it.
