Rambling around my apartment time:
I love this mini garden on a side table.
A little tribute wall behind the door in my bedroom of the dear ones lost in the last few years. Some of the kindest people I have ever known. The one on the left is me and my bestie (since we were 6 years old). The two on the right were treasured mentors.
I am editing my part memoir of a stretch of time when I was only 23 years old which had a lasting impact on me. Chapter outlines, character outlines, magnifying glass for my not so good anymore eye sight.
This most gorgeous hand-painted card from a dear artist friend received a few days ago. We have travelled a long, convoluted path together encouraging each other's artistic endeavours.
That painted card is so wonderful. I would definitely keep it on display.
ReplyDeleteI agree DKZ, it's worthy of a frame!

I love the hand-painted card and the mini-garden. And also the print(?) above the wall vase.
ReplyDeleteIt's a painting which reminded me of the houses in St. John's but bought on a trip to Cape Breton a few years back.

I like that you fill your spaces with mementos. I like that wall vase, and never saw anything like it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Charlotte. I believe I found it in a thrift store many years ago.

I like all of these photos and the plants and card. They make a place a home.
ReplyDeleteThey do, don't they e? A friend gave me another orchid today. I am new to orchids and I have really taken care of one I got on my birthday last year, coming into her 3rd blooming now. In the absence of pets in this pet free building (grrr) I have declared my plants my pets.

Can you visit a shelter and read to a dog or visit a cat cafe for contact with animals there? Do they allow therapy animals for short visits?
DeleteFrom what I have seen of your apartment it is very tasteful. Hugs - David
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't quite call it tasteful David. I should post more pics of some of the chaotic corners (knitting, books, all sorts of eclectic art on the walls, LOL.

It's is always interesting to see glimpses into one another's lives and thanks for showing some of yours. Our apt has a number of wooden signs on walls and the tops of doorways and someday soon I will do a post to show them. We have quite a few, so perhaps a couple of posts.
