December Blues

I know. I'm a crashing bore. But as a lot of the world drowns in snow and cold weather and ice and other challenges, I can sit on my front deck and look out over this. A few minutes ago.

Blue you can taste. Blue you can smell. Blue you can hear.

Oh, and Nina Simone with her magical "Love me or Leave me" on the Ipod.....can that woman work those jazzy blues with her voice and her piano.....

Bluesy bliss.

  1. Newfoundland and Northern Ireland seem to have changed places weather-wise. I'd love to look out on a vista like that but all I see is pavements covered in sheet ice and skidding cars.

  3. Our sky is baby blue today - not as tasty as yours by a long chalk (blue chalk of course). It's cold for OK in early Dec. though. Climate is changing - but everyone here looks t'other way.

  6. Blue like that can never be boring! How do you ever get any work done if that's your view?

  8. We're blue and sunny here in the NH mountains too. The rain washed away the small bit of snow. Climate change maybe, we get warmer and they get colder.

  10. I was stationed in Argentia, Newfoundland for a few years many years ago. When I first arrived I spent many an hour wandering around wondering what I was doing there. I even took to mentally singing to myself, "When Sunny Gets Blue...her eyes are gray and shinny...and then the rain begins to fall..."

Luckily I finally got into the swing of things and Newfoundland became one of my favorite places on earth.

I wrote a little about my experiences in Newfoundland in 'http://gentlysaid.blogspot.com/2010/03/things-you-were-going-to-ask-me-if-you.html' if you happen to be interested.
