I hope I'm not a crashing bore with these posts. But I have to say they are keeping me honest in my "clean" eating.
And with the hot tea bolstering me and some smashing old series on BritBox and a brilliant new book and the spot of knitting I'm doing okay today. And you know why? Well, partially anyway. I reached out to a dear friend who's not doing so hot and he can't get further treatment because of Covid being rampant in his area. And he's normally a cheerful man, positive and balanced and now he's wretched with bowel and breathing issues. And what can one do? I'm not a thoughts and prayers person, just assured him I was holding him in light and love and I've had a candle going all day to remind me.
And others are not doing so well either. Maybe it's in the moon or something. We've all had it up to here.
End of day was some refreshing news in that a niece had a baby boy a few hours ago. Why do we say baby girl and baby boy anyway? It's not like we can give birth to an adult or a teenager.
And this was sent by Grandgirl in this new craze of sea shanties on TikTok.
But it's brilliant and I've played it, oh, maybe 10 times today.
Not a bore at all. No way, no how. I think many of us struggle the world over and it is good to read both of other's difficulties (we are not alone) and of their triumphs.
ReplyDeleteLove the song too.
It's marvellous isn't it EC? And thanks for the kind words.

We subscribed to Britbox a month ago. We don't watch it a lot but there is some good shows and a good nostalgic wallow. Unfortunately thoughts and prayers are beginning to slip into public utterances here. I'll look at the video later.
ReplyDelete"Nostaltic Wallow" - I like that. I'm currently into A Touch of Frost which I used to watch on PBS.
DeleteThe video is only a minute Andrew, LOL!

So sorry to hear your friend can't get the help he needs. Surely there must be some way, do doctors do home visits in these times of need? If they both wore a mask the risk is minimised?
ReplyDeleteYou're not boring me one bit.
No can't pressure him in any way. He has terminal cancer it looks like. Very upsetting. I just wish life was easier for him.

Your posts are not boring, but encouraging! Heck you can do it, maybe I can too!
ReplyDeletePoor friend ... if you're not on the brink of death or it's something really trivial, then the answer is 'sorry, wait it out'.
Gratz on the baby boy ;)
I think it's because the hospitals are completely out of both staff and room as it's in Ontario where cases are out of control.

All Indian languages have separate words for son and daughter. Colonial influence however creeped in when ayahs had to look after children and since baby was supposed to be for girls boys became babas. My son even now is called Baba and my daughter in love Baby informally.
ReplyDeleteThat's very interesting Ramana and makes a lot of sense.

I'm glad to have the chance to come in and support your efforts.
ReplyDeleteAnd so sorry to hear that people can't get desperately needed medical attention because of the overwhelming pandemic.
I hope they're keeping track of these additional deaths - I know of others who have needed attention but can't access because of the overcrowding.

Thank you, Thank you for lighting the way! I love the way you live fully even while moving along the path, eyes wide open and mind, sometimes clear!, mostly going where we all go but awake to the end! You are brilliant!
ReplyDeleteFrom a sea shanty connoisseur, that is an excellent one.
ReplyDeleteHow awful for your friend. I hope he can carry on, and relief can come. I am a solid believer in light and love.
I love the COVID sea shanty! Yea sea shantys!
