Stubblejumper was bemoaning her lack of finding a proper 2022 Planner. Seems she and I are very, very fussy about our planners. They have to be workhorses.
I found a beauty a month or so ago at a dollar store (who'd a' thunk it?) Unbounded joy for $4.00 approx.
Week at a glance - huge amount of room for every single thing. I like to slot in stuff beforehand and book time off, a day off preferably.
Pages of To Do lists and pages of notes - I use these for movie and book recommendations. And Important Thots. And my never ending to do list.
Special see-through section at the back with a zipper for those bits.
After two years of frozen friend and family meal drop offs I am back to cooking again and had to brag about this marvelous old recipe meatloaf with sides of kale and carrot/sweet potato. I gave leftovers to Daughter along with my home made soup. Quite a switcheroo. So happy about this.
Our lives must be less busy than yours as everything fits on a wall calendar. We should be more modern and use Google for such things, but I can't be bothered.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there is a use for a clock in the toilet, but I am not sure what that may be.
I stopped using digital calendars when there was a crash and I lost everything Andrew - really serious as client appointments and contact and sub contact information was trashed. Along with billable hours, etc. Paper ever since.
DeleteLOL on toilet clock. when my glasses are off and I have bathroom tasks I can see the time loud and clear.

I bought my 2022 appointment book recently. It looks similar to yours but the days are vertical across the weeks' page, with times in 15 minute increments so I can use it to note all my patient's appointments.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a little beaut too SAW. I've gotten used to my layout over the years and I think my aging brain would resist a change. I clock everything in there down to household, etc.

Your planner looks good. Like Andrew I use a wall calendar. It isn't enough though. And as for the to do lists....
ReplyDeleteHooray for feeling up to cook again. That is a huge step forward.
A wall calendar wouldn't be fit for purpose for me EC but I can see how in partnerships it's needed to track each other.
DeleteI am thrilled about the cooking.

I love the clock! I no longer have a to do list, since I never do what is on it anyway. I'm glad you are feeling like cooking again, I am waiting for that moment myself after several weeks of just heating what is in my freezer which is now almost empty.
ReplyDeleteGood on you River for emptying that freezer, no mean task indeed!
DeleteI'm pretty good on the TODO list - not that everything on it is complete but I just carry the unfinished over.

I quit using planners when I retired from corporate life and have never felt the need for one since. I have been living one day at a time since then! I have one permanent day calendar that I use to note down birthdays etc so that I can send greetings. It has been with me for years!
ReplyDeleteI am probably a bit more active than you Ramana, hard to say as you have a very full life indeed.
DeleteI would lose my mind if left to my own internal time planning. Too much on the go still with clients, writing, projects and socializing and not forgetting medical trekking.

I use Google calendar. Thoughts and ideas go into my phone. Places to visit I use Google Keep. I'm pretty well a paperless gal.
ReplyDeleteI do have a love of clocks though!
I totally get it Jackie but after a digital disaster (see above!) I stopped and that's going back to Palm Pilot days. And I was actually teaching palm pilot operation to clients then. All for nought, right?

After battling illness, it's such a joy to do normal things such as cook a meal, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteGosh Linda, you nailed it. I must write about it more.

I must visit the Dollar Store in town. See what else I can find.
ReplyDeleteMy planner is kept next to the laptop keyboard on my desk so I like a 5"x7" and use it not only for appointments and reminders but all kinds of notes, recipes I see online and want to try but not print or bookmark ... it's not about being busy, it's about being handy, and right now that means a full page for each date seems ideal but almost impossible to find. Franklin Planners can kiss my ass -- I'll make my own if I have to. After all I've actually done it before, in my first job in publishing. Just have to get a desktop program that works for such things and make the effort. -Kate, whose phone insists on identifying her as UNKNOWN even though she's bent over backward to set the gmail account it uses with a proper profile name and image. Ooooooh what's the point, sighed Eeyore
Good luck at the dollar store Kate. One never knows! Normally I pay well over $20 for mine so this was unexpected. It is perfect.

Gratz on cooking again!!! We use a wall calendar (home made) for familiy things.
ReplyDeleteI hear you Charlotte but I find them too small.

I keep most appointments in m y head, which fails at times!
ReplyDeleteCooking is a drag when we have to do it every single day but its such a relief when we can cook after being unable. There's so much agency in cooking
Truly there is Kylie. It's like rejoining the world again. My head has failed me so many times with double booking of stuff. I never trust my head anymore.

That meatloaf looks good. The calendar and clock look like good buys.

I still use a Filofax for my upcoming activities. Not many people use Filofaxes these days. Once again it seems I'm well behind the times.
ReplyDeleteI love the clock.
I had filo fax for a few years way back, fabulous system. And not subject to computer crashes.
DeleteThe clock is so vulgar as to be adorable. :)
