Away in Pictures

Daughter, Grandgirl and I went off to a cabin way up in Ochre Pit Cove.

I feel so lucky we can hang out together. This was the trip planned in lieu of our road trip to Toronto which I knew I couldn't handle and they were totally understanding of it.

A few photos.

The beach at Salmon Cove~~~

Iceberg Season here - this is one in Grates Cove nearby where we stayed~~~

Daughter sitting at one of those adorable small libraries~~~

View from our front deck, iceberg in the distance~~~

Gumbo served by a Louisiana chef at a local restaurant~~~

This house was directly across from us~~~

    1. It felt like a lot longer as we savoured the time. I am always aware that it could be the last but not in a morbid way.

  3. This looks fantastic! Icebergs, mini-libraries, sun and family time ... what's not to like. No, I'm not envious, even though I never saw a live iceberg.

    1. Icebergs are extraordinary Uglemore and defy a good description, a turquoise element running through them against the denim sea.

  5. Fabulous. And I mean it in the literary sense. I wish that we could have places like that here. We don't.

    1. The air has been crisp and clear here. We rarely get humidity. The joke is always bring a full year's outerwear with you when you travel. True dat!!

  8. It is not too often than in one post you can see gumbo and an iceberg together. Little icebergs floating around must be so cool to see. I guess there was no swimming then.

  10. Oh, you should've called . I would love to have gone with you. ;). How beautiful the view. The house is even cheerful.
What we need sometimes to revive is just staying close to home. Without the chores.

    1. You're right Gemma, staying close to home can feel like a thousand miles away from the everyday. We just loved this mini-vacation.

  11. These pictures are utterly beautiful and relaxing! And I absolutely love the 2 ladies chatting over the white picket fence with the laundry blowing behind them...There is nothing like the smell of sheets hung outside in the summer heat to dry.
