Day 20

 All is well.

Jessica was here today and the woman is a genius at organizing me and cleaning everything spotless. And at the speed of lightening. She cheers me up. And she's taking my recycling - this building does not have recycling which is a awful and I felt bad about tossing literally everything in the garbage after years and years of automatic sorting.

I had started the new knitting pattern and something didn't feel right, I should always pay attention to that - and sure enough, several more inches in and I realized I had made a massive mathematical miscalculation, so tomorrow I will rip everything out and restart with the proper math. I shared my downfall with Niece who said that when we rip everything out and start again, then we know that now it's going to be right. Wise words.

I watched a few episodes of a really fun Irish series called "Finding Joy".  I love how the dog has its own personality (and voice) and opens and closes each episode.

  1. I haven't knitted anything that needs calculations for years, all I do is super long scarves and even those I haven't made any for a few years now. The last thing I knitted was a tiny shawl type wrap for my tiny Meg doll.
I'm glad you have someone to take away your recycling, a bit astonished that your building doesn't have such a facility.

    1. The recycling is a real issue in these buildings. I like the challenge of complicated designing but when it goes foobar it's a real downer.

  2. I noted down Finding Joy since I subscribe to AcornTV, the show sounds great. As far as I know, every building where I live here in California has recycling bins. I am glad you are able to recycle.

    1. Way behind the times here and it frosts me as we are living on an island. Only recently did they ban plastic bags with the ocean full of them. And glass is a huge problem. No recylcling whatsoever when ground, it can be used on paving.

  3. Finding Joy is a wonderful title.
And I do love your final photo.
Happy recalculating and knitting. And yes, your niece is right. Very right.

    1. And it's a play on words EC as her name is Joy and she's a control freak. It's really well done.

  5. I really need some help here, isn't getting any better, but haven't wanted to bring someone in during this pandemic which has such a high infection rate presently.

    1. Jessica wears mask and gloves all the time. So maybe that might reassure you Joared if you can find someone similar. I really sympathize with you as I just simply could not cope without this bi-weekly help.

  6. I am the Jessica in my home and it drives my son and daughter in love nuts. They drive me nuts with their slapdash ways to start with!

    1. It's challenging living with others Ramana, especially with such wildly different domestic methods. Add two animals in there and it's chaos no doubt.

One of my brothers, a neat freak, used to say to me I could turn a room into an instant slum in 5 minutes. There was a lot of truth in that.

  7. I could use a house cleaner. Love the boat at sunset. It could be Hawaii. Lol.

  8. I have a family of cleaners who come in monthly and keep my world on its axis. I go out and leave them to it. They're masked and I leave them disposable gloves. When it wasn't legal to break sheltering, I paid them anyway, to help keep them in business. I really rely on them now that my energy's lower.

    1. How wonderful you paid them when they couldn't come Boud and how fantastic these helpers are in every way. Worth their weight in cold to keep us in survival mode.

  9. Laura came and cleaned my house yesterday. Third month in a row. Or forth; I don't remember. It's just wonderful. I even got a new mop, like a swiffer, but uses water and a washable pad.

    1. There's an electric Swiffer too Joanne which Jessica tells me does a great job.

      We are so very fortunate.
