ReplyDeleteWhat a sad state of affairs here in the US when something so ridiculous can be both exasperatingly true and ha-ha funny at the same time!
ReplyDeleteI heard that dinging yesterday. I filled my car with unleaded petrol. 30.38 litres cost me £39.46. £6.58 of that was VAT for the government pocket, yes the VAT rate now sits at 20%.

Bill Maher sums up the situation perfectly. But Americans believe they have democracy already - that is, the right to run their own lives in their own way. They fail to realise just how dependent their lives are on other people's cooperation.
